Mitch Schlesinger - Author Archive

Mitch Schlesinger is a guitar enthusiast and frequent participant in the Guitar Noise forums. Though he took classical guitar lessons in his youth and "played" a borrowed electric guitar in a high school punk rock band in the early 1980s, he didn't begin to study and appreciate the guitar until two decades later, when he bought an electric guitar of his own in 2004. He has since taken up the electric bass, which he plays in his church's contemporary praise band. Mitch is also an avid photographer, and his work has appeared in magazines and in an exhibit at Oxford University. He resides in the Washington DC area with his wife and three children.

David Hodge: Complete Idiot’s Guide To Playing Bass Guitar

Guitar Noise Forum member Mitch (Slejhamer) Schlesinger gives us his review of David’s first tutorial book. I was glad to see that this book has a different presentation style than the typical bass method book. It is much more discussion oriented, which gives it a unique teaching value that I found very helpful for self-study.
