Hey Darrin,

I was rather interesting in finding out about some more applications for the melodic minor scale (and its relative modes).. I am quite familiar with the two applications as you've mentioned in this section, that is.. C-melodic minor and D-melodic minor over a G7.. whereby, in the C-melodic minor over G7, it acts as an *Ionian with a b3*, and in the D-melodic minor over G7, it acts as a *Dorian with a raised/natural 7th*..

So, in essence, if the melodic minor were being used over the V7 chord of a major key, it can be applied to the I (root for relative ionian) and ii (root for relative dorian) degrees.. I have also used melodic minor, over the vi (root for relative aeolian), and all the relative modes in their respective places..

Thus, in simpler words, *modified* option instead of ionian, dorian, aeolian modes.. can you give me some more uses for the melodic minor?

Thank You
