Power adapters

So I have used a line 6 fx board for a while now, and have recently switched this out for some good ole classic effects pedals. Got a combo of Boss, Maxon, Vox, MXR, and visual sound pedals on the ground now and I am wondering what decent power supplies I should be using. I looked at a lot of review...

Re: Mesa Duel Rectifier cleans?

I think you might mean a 'dual' rectifier :D In any case I have never owned one of these but in my shopping for amps (which I have done quite a lot!) I have played through double and triple rectifiers before. The clean is OK. It certainly won't capture the warmth or clarity of some Fender amps or th...

Re: A question about A/B switching

Would something like an mxr 10 band eq work as the impedance barrier between the guitar and y plug as well?

Re: A question about A/B switching

Thanks that made a whole lot of sense!

Time to go get myself a y adapater and an a/b box!

I am curious though...why would the mxr micro amp be necessary at the beginning?

A question about A/B switching

I have quite a plethora of pedals and my band is playing shows right now...one of the things I wanted to try doing was creating an A/B for my distorted/clean tones. However this is a bit different in set up...I would go out from my guitar into a ab switch...line a has distortion and things I use wit...

Re: Regarding Modes

I have never understood why someone doesn't just explain modes as simply as this...Ionian is the major scale. If you start Ionian on C and you play every note all the way from fret 3 on the 2nd string (assuming standard) and play every major scale note all the way up the fretboard (CDEFGABC, then on...

Is there something wrong, or something that is bothering you about the one you got in your starter kit? Of all things, your cables will probably affect your tone the least...unless you have bad cables or a cable causing background noise. I actually use some of the musiciansfriend cables into a gibso...

I'de throw in 9s first if your gonna try em out. Try those and if you get the sound you want and you like them, leave it at the 9s. If you go to 10s and decide you don't like them, you can groove out your nut too much, and when you put the 9s back in, they will possibly buzz. I Like both D'addarios ...

So I played at my first open mic...

Hey guys :D. Went fairly alright, except that I was so nervous that my whole body almost locked up...had to force my way through playing. The people there really loved what I played (I played 3 original peices). I messed up a bit but they like it anyways :D. I liked it cause this gave me a goal to r...

I pulled apart my gibson lp, and left it in peices for 2 weeks cause I was too lazy to put it back together again :D. Back together now, and man am I glad I did that lol. I have a 7 string I never use. I put more expensive electronics into my original peavey predator (bout $200 12 years ago), than t...
