Re: Guitar Amp for beginner under near the $100 mark

Try to play a Fender Mustang and compare. Not sure if it is in your budget, try to find some used amp. It has lots of effects and modeled amps.

Re: Acoustic Effect Pedals???

You can use all kind of effect pedals with all kind of guitars. Sometimes you will get weird results but, yes, you can use them. I saw (and heard) a distortion pedal used with a nylon string guitar. There are specific pedalboards for acoustic guitars, players usually tend to look for delays, reverbs...

Re: Dry Acoustic Guitars

I try to play all my guitars weekly... although usually it is more one of those New Year's resolutions... Maybe my electrics can be in the case or bag more days/weeks but I usually review and play my acoustic at least weekly. If I am in a hurry I just play some chords to allow that the guitar vibrat...

Re: Dry Acoustic Guitars

Hi Roy! I hope you are doing well. Try to go to a good luthier. I did it with my Ramírez several months ago. It is my very first guitar and it is also a sentimental thing. He confirmed that it hadn't any fix. He recommended to me to remove the strings and to keep it in the case (it is no longer play...

Re: Late Starters...a plan?

A teacher will help a lot at that stage. If you can not afford it (time or money) a book is a relatively good substitute. I mean, books by good teachers usually have the plan you are asking for, with goals and a structured path to them. Learning scales and chords is Ok but music is about songs. Try ...

Re: from uke to e-guitar

If it is your first experience with guitars, try to go to a local music store and ask to the salesmen, they will recommend the best guitar to you in your price range.

Re: Good morning world

Sorry to hear you are looking for a job. It seems economy is improving... at least politicians say it... Hey, it could be an idea for a new song! Practically I only play my Tele. I play acoustic weekly (roughly) just for maintenance (although it was in my parents' home until a couple of weeks). What...

Yes, I did it, too. In fact I also played some classical cello stuff on bass guitar. There are several videos on YouTube (not me), it is common.

Re: hi all!!

Hello Sir! :D They are different instruments to me. They are different styles, too. To me it's easier to play acoustic stuff with an electric than the opposite. I guess it depends on the way you play. I agree with Alan, I tend to "slide" rather than "bend" (mainly by the string gauge or material). A...

Re: What type of music do you play?

Lately I am trying to play jazz standards, chord melody. It's always funny to look for the best sounding voicing.

But I played different styles (and instruments).
