tis ok crkt, i was never super involved anyways! so i slipped away quiet like... but while i was away i wrote a 5 song EP in a new genre for me, and intend to record it, then use that recording as a demo cd for getting cafe gigs around town :) i left my full time job to go parttime in whatever work ...

ah,....that glenn millers still gone is the best news iv had all week... :P "you took him, you can keep the smegger" (for anyone whos seen red dwarf) yeah iv got aN EP written, and my friend is working on the final touches of his recording setup now, so hopefully very soon i shall have recordings......

particulary on hightnotes, sometimes i think you just cant sing an E as high as you can an O because your throat is shaped differently for the different sounds. a fair few songs have singers singing sounds a bit oddly and i think that that is to help them reach the note on (whats almost) the needed ...

a very good dvd, i have referred to it a lot in previous threads. suprisingly it doesnt focus much on the actual screaming but the power and delivery of the voice first, along with breathing and techniqu. it helped me a heap. there is a second dvd to but i havent seen that one

ok thanks, i think whatever the actual legalities of it, if you go to play a gig AT a certain place, resturaunt, coffee shop...its all fine...and buskers play all the time, only covers, with no royalites...

best of you works very well as a softer acoustic, like everlong does.

something to make it sound a bit different can help avoid it sounding monotonous as the radio destroyed it :(

i just stick with the dunlop 'usa nylon .73mm' generic...works great for me :)

though iv been playing with the idea of buying a wholesale packet (big one they deliver to shops) and not worrying about buying any more buy the handful for a few years :P

hey, i took the plunge and asked a coffee shop im familiar with about going and playing/singing sometimes each week there, they used to have live music but didnt renew their licence and now dont do teh live music thing...but sounds like they want it back again... i really need to know...when it come...

best way to be! chance to make some new fans while not having the pressure of living up to old fans expectations...

plus strangers are eaiser to play to than friends... only... when friends say 'you sounded great' you KNOW its true..most friends wont hold back from criticism hahaha :S

dunno...bullet for my valentine use 10's ... and there a heavy band...

maybe you need heavy strings on a standard setup guitar, but if you get yours customised for that tuning you can drop down to lighter strings to do faster lead work on...??
