Re: Newbie at pc usb recording

I use cubase myself, and I can tell you that while it's no problem using multiple USB/MIDI instruments simultanously this doesn't work well for interfaces all the time. For example, my Behringer UCA202 has stereo in/out, but it's only one channel. You can send two mono signals into the input which'l...

Re: C to Cm

Hey Rick,

How are you playing these chords? I don't know if barre chords are an option with arthritis but you could try it like this:

C [8 10 10 9 8 8]
Cm [8 10 10 8 8 8]

Basically you'd just be lifting your middle finger of the fret to go from C to Cm.

Re: Inspiration from bad things

Jason, you're not really providing any argument besides saying that 'bad things have happened to people', and that there have been people who created well-known works of art after that. I dont think anyone doubts that bad things happen to people, nor that artists have drawn inspiration from it. Your...

Re: Inspiration from bad things

Art history is filled with people who drew inspiration from sadness and madness... In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: for anyone who doesn't know, that came to coleridge in an opium dream, and when a person knocked on his door, he went to answer it and forgot the rest when he ...

Kopfschmerzen: good luck with it! 8) history disagrees: robert johnson, willie johnson, pet sounds, layla and other assorted love songs, tears in heaven, all things must pass, blood on the tracks, nirvana, etc etc etc people don't forget how to write because other stuff's happening to them. They ten...

Re: Inspiration from bad things

IMHO inspiration can often come from bad things, but it's best to keep your distance initially. While you're still dealing with it there's a good chance you'll miss the right perspective and end up writing about how sorry you feel for yourself and such overdramatic garbage. If you're talking not abo...

Re: Why does this song sound sad?

Well, to me it don't. I guess it's just the association with the lyrics, try singing a happy-go-lucky text over it while playing it slightly faster, completely different feeling. 8)

Re: *a lonely jammer comes through the door*

Thanks folks! Roy: nah, this one was with Guitar Rig, essentially a souped-up marshall with a TS9 in front, delay after and a crapload of compression to finish it off. You would get something like this with the Boss Soldano model although you'd probably need to boost the mids a bit on that one. Nuno...

*a lonely jammer comes through the door*

And notices all online jam slots are filled here, so nothing to do but pick one of the backings and jam on my own. :( Thanks Roy for posting this, this was the spring backing! Weather is super hot here (or atleast for dutch standards) so expect plenty of 'beer influences'. :p http://www.box.net/shar...

I hope, for Sepp blatter's sake, that England can turn things around in the second half... Stevie Wonder could have seen that was a goal.

Re: To All American GNers...

Urg, nobody knows why FIFA is the way it is. Sepp Blatter once stated that "errors made by the ref are part of the charm of football." but he seems to be the only one with that opinion. It was particularly tragic at the world cup in Asia, where huge in-stadium screens were showing slowmotion images ...

Re: help with my voice =/

Late response but screw it: sounds like a great start to me! The highest part are out of your range, changing keys would do wonders here. You have the beginnings of vibrato, there are decent dynamics and you seem to have a feel for performance. I'd suggest playing a little closer to your natural ran...
