Re: Still In Limbo

From tonight - http://bit.ly/e1AD0R Now learning film processing by assisting legend John Davies in the dark room. Stoked! :P :P :P :P Dean (my bass player) is expecting a baby in February. I can't commit to a gig I lined up for us at this space. A weekly thing that would bring in a good pay. So I'v...

USA Get Ready For Spotify!

I had to get on here to post this, just caught the announcement. Us Europeans have been enjoying the benefits of Spotify for some time. It's a bit like radio, on your computer, but you choose the playlist. You can pay or have a free account. Free accounts have occasional adverts. Less (in my experie...

Still In Limbo

Photographic limbo, that is. And I expect to stay there until approximately June 2011. It happened by accident, I swear it, but I'm now organising a pretty massive exhibition and associated events (workshops, music night, stuff like that) in Liverpool. I'm also doing some work with a fairly big phot...

I was gutted to hear about this. And right after finding a bunch of fellow Beefheart fans in Liverpool, as well.

Quick Note

I haven't been on here and shan't be for some time, I doubt. I'll try to check in every now and then. But I've got a pretty stressful situation going on offline that is keeping me busy and with limited internet usage, so forgive my absence. I am totally fine, however, so don't worry (no, it has noth...

Re: beginner here and need some helpful advice..

I'm another lefty who plays righty in the thread! Sorry to hear about the injury, that really sucks. I'd also recommend looking into getting a local teacher who can guide you - as you already have an injury and muscle weakness from it, you'll want to be doubly sure there's nothing in your posture/te...

London Music Shop With Great Vibe

So, I know sometimes people feel a bit intimidated in music stores. I kinda do myself. Well, not intimidated, but definitely hassled at times. I came across this store in London - they're pretty new, but they have a great ethic. And they sell ukeleles. So they must be good. I thought it was worth a ...

Re: Classical steel?

I play jazz on an acoustic guitar. I also 'play' classical music on my acoustic (if you can call sight reading it playing it....at my level, I really don't). That said, I use my Ibanez for jazzing, which has a really dark woody tone to it, and I do a fair bit of left hand muting of strings. I am als...

I'm going to guess that your inspiration song was All Along The Watchtower.

Re: Guitar advice needed

For £100-150, I'd look at the Squier range from Fender. Epiphones will generally be £200+ but also worth a gander. If you have a friend who plays guitar, or know what you're looking for enough to spot a good guitar, I'd also look at the smaller brands or unbranded instruments in some stores as the...
