Believe me, I love free stuff and am not looking for places to spend more money.   But the site is excellent and the lessons are superb. So if contributions are needed- I have no problem coughing up a few pennies (it may mean cutting down on some of that expensive coffee).   My only concern about th...

Recommendation for Fingerstyle book?

Can anyone recommend an instructional book on fingerstyle playing?   Not really sure what level I am at (Advanced Beginner?). I have learned a few fingerstyle songs from Dave Hodge's lessons- Blackbird, Fields of Gold, etc...   For me these lessons have been a great help in learning the fundamentals...

Looks like a lot of you folks covered this lesson before... but I am new to this so a basic question with the blues shuffles:

How do you avoid playing all the other strings?  Are you muting them with your fingers or is your picking very precise and you can avoid striking them?
