Re: Sloppy?

Thanks to both of you on your feedback and to whomever moved this to the correct forum Spanish flamenco? O_O it sounded like that to you? xD. Cool. I've heard a lot of stuff ( as in people say it sounds like a lot of different stuff), but I had never heard spanish flamenco as one of them. I guess be...

Sloppy?

Hey, everybody O_O. It has been a looong while since I came around here. Anyhow, I've kept playing and studying music :D. So always when I play I am hard on myself, not so much on speed because I am not a speed-oriented player, but more on general sloppyness. I have no other english word to describe...

Re: Guitar theory question?

Just a kind of after thought: If I were to listen to this kind of progression I would probably play in D major and treat the C as a bVII, mostly because I'm used to that sound in the type of music I play, and I'd treat the Bb as a bVI and imply the maj7 in my playing. Sure I wouldn't play the C# in ...

A really fun day...

I was reading something Noteboat posted a few months ago and it reminded me of something that happened to me last summer: I was at the Berklee in Puerto Rico thing, which is basically the Berklee guys coming down here to teach classes and scout for musicians for one week. So one the first day of tha...

Modes of the melodic minor

Okay, so I was playing around today with the melodic minor, and I think I finally understand the so called "modes of the melodic minor". You guys tell me if I'm right. If we harmonize the melodic minor we get the following chords : Imin/maj7/ II min7/ bIII maj7#5/ IV7#11/ V 7#5 / VI -7b5 / and VII 7...

Re: Why do guitars go out of tune?

Also if they are really old ( 2 months ? ) and are all rusty, they can be in tune with the tuners but just sound out of tune, that happened to me yesterday until I changed the strings.

Unexpected Surprise

Well my last guitar teacher was a teacher at a local interamericana university but he got fired ( apparently because he failed too many students for the private university's taste ) so he was moving to Florida with his wife and stuff. So I took my last class a few weeks ago, and he told me we could ...

Re: Made my first money playing

What a crazy night, the singer picked me up at 4 30 pm ( I'm still 15 and cant drive X_X) and we headed off to meet with the rest of the group, we left the rendezvous point at 4:45 PM, we arrived at the church at 8 pm, ouch long drive with some traffic. We hadn't rehearsed in like 2 months, because ...

Made my first money playing

I went to a church 2 hours from here with my band, we played 4 songs, ahh details later I am tired but, yeah we made a 100 bucks, we didn't know we were gonna ge...

Re: "Gigging" at church.

Thank you man. When people say stuff like that it really makes me feel good. But I have discovered that I have to have a high self-esteem to be a good musician, because if you don't believe in yourself you can't sell yourself so people won't buy. But thanks :D Yeah I have to have fun, that is crucia...
