Re: Is it too late?

My advice to you is not to worry so much about your age - you´re still very young - but just get on with your guitar playing. As many have said already it doesn´t matter what age you are. And if it´s hard to find gigs, just go out and play in the streets or in a park. You´ll attract attention and wh...

Re: Where Did The Guitar Tabs Go?

Sounds like a great idea to release one song per month as a lesson. That gives enough time for us "students" to really learn one piece really well before moving on to the next one!

Sound like GN is back in full effect, and that makes my life a lot more fun! :D

Re: Where Did The Guitar Tabs Go?

Wow, that´s excellent - I´m so happy :D I´ve missed the "old" song-lessons tremendously, so I´m really looking forward to revisiting them - and some new ones - again. I think the GN song lessons are easily the best out there and they´re a really fun, engaging and interesting way to learn new te...

Re: Your Gear...

Thanks BlueJay - it IS a lot of fun :D

Still, I´m impressed by your collection of fine instruments - they look like really nice guitars, and are well kept, which I appreciate!

Re: Your Gear...

Just bought a real beaut! It´s a Les Paul Traditional, black with creme pickguard and a Bigsby Tremolo! With Gibson ´57 Classic and a 57 Classic+ it´s got a really nice tone to it! The biggest difference compared to other electrics I´ve played though, is actually the tone when you play it unplug...

Re: Tremelo picking

Start practicing with one string tremolo and gradually expand it to include more strings. As alwasy the answer is... (fill in the blank)

Ps. You don´t want to "tense up" too much, just a little bit to get that short "vibrating" motion in your arm/wrist. Ds.

Re: Got some blues tab recommendations?

Check out www.justinguitar.com

There´s quite a bit of blues-stuff on there. Videolessons, tab and what-not. Have a look around and see what you find!

Good luck!

Re: Where Did The Guitar Tabs Go?

Hi GN-crew! What´s new in the negotiations with "the publishers"... any progress? Or are they just stalling you, until they think you´ll eventually tire and give up? Seems like the months are rolling by but without any tangible results...? Now, I know you´re doing everything you can - and I´m ve...

Re: Yet another hows my singing thread

... /My biggest concern right now is just the tone of my voice though, I don't know if I just don't like the sound of my own voice or if it really just doesn't sound good, but if my tone sucks theres not really anything I can do about it./... Many people seem to think their own voice sounds "weird"...

Re: What do you do well?

I´ve got good picking hand technique - using both a pick or playing fingerstyle.

I´m also a decent rhythm player and I´m getting better at soloing (not very good at the moment though  ).

Re: Your Gear...

I picked up my guitar from the shop yesterday, where I had them install new pick-ups in my Gibson SG Special. I went for the Gibson ´57 Classic (Nickel "color") for both neck and bridge position... and man, what a sweet sound! :D I only use small Orange 5W amp with a BOSS Distortion pedal for home ...

Re: Holding your pick if your index finger is destroyed

I read in an interview with James Hetfield (of Metallica) that he too holds the pick with three fingers... and he does ok I guess...

Just do whatever suits you.

Re: Beginner guitarist - What do I learn now HELP ????????

Yeah, just keep practising changing between different chord-shapes - very slowly at first - and stick with it. You´ll learn eventually and the time it will take to get it down will vary a lot from person to person. It´s always good to find songs that you enjoy - easy ones to start with - as it mak...
