Re: Led Zeppelin / Spirit Trial

Maybe they saw the success and bucks that the Gaye family were awarded and decided it to be worth it.

There's another song out last year - I've forgotten which one - that's receiving the attention of a $20m lawsuit. Ouch!!!

Re: Dry Acoustic Guitars

Hi Nuno! All's well as it can be. Thanks! I hope you're doing well yourself. What sort of weekly maintenance do you do to your acoustic? I'm rolling along with a staggered case hydration schedule with the new Breedlove, Dobro and ESP-LTD acoustics. The Taylor stays in the case except for when playin...

Dry Acoustic Guitars

My long, dry dead guitar and subsequent reaming I received story. I might have done it to myself. I have a fairly decent every day player. A Breedlove Stage J350EF with a Jumbo body. It in was purchased as a quit-smoking prize 4 or 5 years ago, so it has some sort of sentimental value. Part of the d...

Re: Using a full hollowbody

I've put quite a few Guitar Fetish pickups in guitars over the years. I agree that the P90's really stand out. I've been so tempted to replace the ones on my Epi P93, but hate to give up that niche that the stock ones give me. If it was my only guitar, I would very quickly. also thinking of doing th...

Re: Share Your Junkers

I've always wondered - is it possible to convert your guitar so it will use regular strings? The headstock is pretty much just a big hole. The place where the nut would normally be is where the string seats are on this system. I suppose it would be possible to replace the tremolo unit with a standa...

Re: Her ordeal is over

My belated condolences and sympathies. Sad times, indeed. I hope you're doing well, all things considered, and apologize for not seeing this until now.

Best wishes to you, your family and friends.

Anyone got any cheapo guitars that are not worth a whole lot to anyone but you? Perhaps it's some belt-buckle rash of a few chips from falling over. Maybe some other cosmetic damage, or maybe a cheapo guitar with great mods, but you still only get offered 1/3rd of what you paid for it 2 years prior....

Re: Electric guitar overtakes violin in music lesson boom

Something about those 1999 numbers don't complete the story for me. If these numbers are real, the Violin went from 2% to 12% in 15 years. That's massive. 1% to 13% for gee-tar is even more massive. Where did the the Recorder go? Did schools lose budget and kiss recorder training good-bye for elemen...

Re: Classical Finger-Style Question

I had not noticed the difference in tempo until you mentioned it. It's indeed quicker. More energetic, but less emotional or soulful. (lack of better word) I forgot to mention that I stumbled upon a Jazz number that ended up being easiest to do sans plectrum. Nina Simone's "Sinnerman". Pretty much t...

Re: Classical Finger-Style Question

Thanks for the Intel, Alan. I'll certainly look for the John Williams this morning. I don't imagine it to be a heard search. Grade 8 just sounds tough. It also sounds like a lot of material from grade 1 through Grade 7, and one's just got to assume that there is a nugget or two in there for Classica...

Classical Finger-Style Question

I'm curious to know where the song, "Cavatina" falls in the easy to hard scale. Mostly curious about the one guitar arrangement as done by this young lady. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSECkRnpsDE&list=PLC66716CBBB0A0179&index=49 I've seen tons of duets with one guitar doing the arpeggios and one...

Re: Tips for connecting external stomp boxes with Amplitube?

Not sure that's easily done. That's really a job for within Amplitude or within Logic Pro after tracking has been done. There is likely a piece of hardware that IK Multimedia suggests or even sells that will interface to the Amplitude software directly. I would ask the folks in the IK Multimedia for...

Re: Would a portable, screwless wall mount interest you?

My answer may not be what you want to hear, but I'm probably not alone. Then again, I'm pretty anal about removing risk from equations where I can. I don't intend to sound mean, but to hopefully give you some possibly valuable insight into my thoughts on this as you go through your decision making p...
