So 40% mess you around, that's a high figure. Change your policy for those that consistently mess you around, request a months payment in advance. I did that and it worked for me. of course they are easier on electrics or nice acoustic guitars, but you can get used to playing them almost on any guitar with enough time and proper practice.

being inspired is key. Find out what got you excited to buy the guitar in the first place and spend time doing that. Listen to music that moves you, go see a concert, hang out with better players etc…

I like it. Definitely better than the last version was. My only gripe is that it looks so different now, I have to spend hours learning how to use it all over again.

Haha, that's an interesting exercise in concentration. Just tried it and I could do quarter notes at 60 in time. That's a good exercise to torture students with if you are a teacher :)
