Re: Set up?

I did it. Left the truss alone, just sanded the bottom of the bridge saddle, restrung and tuned. An improvement. And more than that, a very small achievement. Each small achievement helps.

Re: Slogging through a slump.

I am rather depressed in general lately. That is difficult to get out of sometimes. Has it happened before? Sometimes, these things just happen, but sometimes, they can be related to chemical changes. If the depression gets worse, go talk to your doctor. Ups and downs are part of life. But sometime...

Re: Set up?

I am near Clear Lake. I've been doing a lot of reading and I think that if I am careful, I can do this myself. And as long as I am careful, it looks like I can't do any extreme damage.

Re: How to store guitar in its case

Keeping a guitar in the case is best for the instrument; however, keeping it on a stand may lend itself to being played more. I think you are right. If the guitar is somewhere not convenient, it isn't going to be played as much. So..... I made some changes and cleared stuff out in my study. I have ...

Beginner blues

My fingers hurt. :( I'm practicing daily and I'll do a set of chords, only to completely forget which finger goes where five minutes later.
I know I'm just paying my dues and if I keep practicing, things will get better.
I hope.

String winders

Do string winders come in different sizes or will one adjust to fit most guitars?

Re: Set up?

It is acoustic, and I have a new package of strings already. I think I'll give it a try after doing some reading  Thank you for your replies.

Set up?

I bought a used guitar and the action is too high. I thought it would be a good idea to bring it somewhere and have it set up. But I do not want to entrust my guitar to just anyone. I looked at comments purportedly made about some local guitar places (I live South of Houston) and at first was deligh...

Re: Beware maxaxeguitars and Ebay

I'm sorry this happened, if the ad did not mention what you found it would seem as if there was a misrepresentation. However, the ads do say that you have 14 days to return, did you decide to return (I went and looked at their Ebay ads) or was there a refund or partial refund given?

Re: How to store guitar in its case

Steves6, I have 5 dogs in my house, one which chews up all sorts of things. I actually am getting a guitar stand for when I need to set the guitar down for a minute, but it would be heartbreaking to find it chewed to splinters so I am going to store it in its case.

Re: Premature M&G

To the ire of my loving wife and those who proceeded her, I constantly peruse Ebay and Craigslist as well as auctions and garage sales for cheap little things to play around with.. I hope you are speaking about guitars  the advice side; Videos, web lessons, tuners and the like are great tool...
