Which digital recorder?

I did a topic search & didn't find any relevant posts, so I'm hoping folks here can give me some input. I've been tasked by the fine arts dept. director at my kids high school (yeah, my arm is still a little sore....) to look into the purchase of a multi-track digital recorder.   I have quite a bit ...

Re: Ohm ratings and connection help for guitar cab

I assume that by 2x12 you mean that each cabinet has 2 - 12" speakers, probably 8 ohm impedance each. From your description it appears that they can be configured as either a series or parallel pair. When you connect impedances in series the total impedance is the sum of the individual values - in y...

Re: Speaker cable vs. Instrument

Gee, I get to put on my EE hat! No theory, I promise....... Gnease is correct - the larger the wire size the less resistance to current flow and the more power that gets to the speakers.  It's an over-simplification, but it sometimes helps to think of electricity like water.  All other things being ...

Re: Acoustic amp for use with Taylor 414CE

Thanks for the input! I did a search for reviews on the amps you mentioned & it gives me a good place to start. One other I've added to the list is the Genz-Benz Shenandoah 100. The next couple weekends I intend to spend some time with my guitar at a few local shops &  check out as many as possible ...

Re: Meet and Greet

My turn I guess............ I started organ lessons at the ripe old age of 5-1/2, and continue playing to this day (we have a Rogers 750 in the living room). In 1973, I bought my first guitar - a Takamine copy of a Martin. I played & sang regularly in a church folk group until the early 80's, then t...

Acoustic amp for use with Taylor 414CE

Hi All! I'm looking for recommendations on a mid-range acoustic amp to use with my new Taylor 414CE with their ES pickup system (low impedance, balanced output). I don't need a lot of power...50-100 watts should be plenty. My main concern is good tone reproduction. Two channels would be preferred......
