Re: Harmonizing?

Thank you! If there isn't a harmony in the original recording but you feel like it could use one, how would you go about making one? Like would you just sing the same words only an octave lower like you said? Thanks in advance, I don't have much experience with this so I might be kind of slow. Thank...

Harmonizing?

Hello everyone; I am in a band and recently we played our first show. We took a break for Christmas but we've already chosen new songs that we're going to to learn and I've already learned my guitar parts for most of them. We want to improve our sound for our next show and I think that one way we ca...

Re: Coins for guitar picks?

Thank you everyone! I think I'm only going to use the coins if they help me get a specific sound that I want.

Re: Bad gear?

Don't let one person's bias against the SM58 get you down on it . The proximity effect is not necessarily a bad thing for every voice . There are an awful lot of SM58's out there and you will find MANY more people who swear by them than dislike them . They are inexpensive , durable , and extremely ...

Re: Learning songs

Thank you for the help! I was wondering if there was a way to figure out chords using music theory! Also, thank you for the links!

Learning songs

Hello everyone, I am in a band and we are updating our song list; usually I use tabs to learn songs, but I hate tabs, maybe it comes from years of piano but I just can't stand tabs. My question is; is there a simple way to figure out songs by ear? I can usually figure out solos and lead guitar by ea...

Coins for guitar picks?

Hello peeps! recently I've been experimenting with using dimes and quarters as guitar picks. It sounds like it would be terrible but if you use a light touch and a little bit of a different picking technique it is actually very nice... at least for me. Anyway, is this very bad for my strings? I was ...

Re: Beginner public address

Hello again, I appreciate everyone's help but I have a few more questions about PAs. Like I said we are going to buy one or two pieces at a time until we can afford everything. I am wondering what the pros for unpowered speakers are, it seems like it would be better to buy a mixer then powered speak...

Re: Bad gear?

Thank you! So do you not like the SM58 just because of the proximity effect? Or are there other problems with it too?

Re: Bad gear?

Thank you all! What mic would you recommend for small venues? SM58?Or is there better mics out there for around the same price? Our vocalist is a bass/ tenor if that helps. I don't think that he's breathing wrong, he is a very good singer and he has had some training. But I will talk about that at o...

Bad gear?

Hello everyone, recently my band played our first gig; it went very well and the audience liked our show. The only thing that was repeatedly said that we need to work on when I talked to the audience afterward was our vocals. Everyone was saying that our vocals were good but not very clear; they sai...
