Re: I can't play guitar

The only problem i have is that my fingers are too short and thick for playng guitar. I'll almost guarantee that your hands are larger than mine. Size, shape and number of the fingers has absolutely nothing to do with being able to play well. One of the local musicians near me has NO hands, an...

Re: Kinda lost on how to record directly off the amp

Hi all, new here. I'm trying to find a digital audio interface to plug the output from my amp (a VOX AD30VT) but I'm a bit lost. Most guides I found recommend buying a microphone and connect it to the interface with an XLR cable. That's over my budget and wouldn't work anyway because I don't have a...

Re: Unwanted distortion from guitar amp

Is it a tube amp? Start with replacing the tubes.
If it's a solid state amp, sounds like a bad capacitor or blown chip.

Without knowing the brand and model of the amp, there's not much anyone can do but make wild guesses.

Re: Dealing with bad amp hum

This may be a naive question, but I've got an older 1960s Fender amp I havent played in a while. When i switched it on it hummed pretty badly, worse than I ever recall it doing. I ensured all leads connect firmly, and the amp had been stored well (cover on at all times). Thoughts? Its kinda like an...

Re: Using a full hollowbody

I like the idea of having more feedback than the Sheraton, but only if its controllable and I dont HAVE to stand 10 feet from the amp to use it. Small stages. I play through a Fender Deluxe Reverb and prefer a chimey/surfy tone. Embrace it, and do what Ted Nugent did with his Byrdland. Walk the sta...

Re: Need help, Buying a New guitar Amp for recording.

I'm a BIG fan of keeping it simple as possible in the studio. My absolute favorite recording amp is an Epiphone Valve Jr. head. You can swap pre-amp tubes in and out to adjust how much gain it has. Paired with a cab of your choice, a good distortion/overdrive and a tremolo pedal it's good to go for ...

Re: Bad Guitar choice???

Find a good tech and have him give it a good setup. I feel this is an absolute necessity for a newly bought acoustic guitar. When he's done you'll be amazed at the difference The action is lowered by adjusting the height of the bridge, which is accomplished by sanding it at the bottom. While someone...
