Songster on a Mac?

Hello - has anyone used Songster on a Mac computer? I'm away from home this week and can't test myself but was wondering if there are any issues using the flash content on Songster from a Mac computer. Thanks in advance for info and Happy New Year to all!

Re: Guitars and Astrophotography.

Nice guitar and photos! I've got a Crafter travel guitar (LH) and it's a very well made guitar, IMHO. Definitely a great value for the price. I may have to look for one of these for my next acoustic - if they make a left-handed version :D

Re: Bad Reputation

Hyperborea - thanks. I've added these to my Amazon shopping list. Although I have a rudimentary understanding of standard notation, I haven't had the discipline so far to teach myself to sight read.

Re: Bad Reputation

Great discussion thread! Noteboat - you have provided the best rationale I've seen yet for most of us to put forth some effort to learn to read music. Although I'm probably in the 10% camp that doesn't need to read; the 80% group sounds like where I'd prefer to be. I've read books on music theory an...

Re: Guitar on Airplane

Gate checking is a reasonable option with a hardcase. In fact, a hardcase is harder to fit inside the plane and I would think would be more likely to be forced into gatechecking. I think a guitar would probably survive fine in a gig bag, being gate checked although that would be my last choice optio...

Re: handedness (left or right)

I play a lefthanded guitar. For me, that always felt the most "natural" way for me to play. I write and eat with my left hand but tend to be right handed in sports (throwing, batting, etc). I'm sure most people could learn to play righty or lefty but I'd recommend going with what feels proper to you...

Re: Guitar on Airplane

I've flown with guitars many times. Without a hardcase, I wouldn't check the guitar as luggage (even WITH a hardcase, I try to avoid that). You should be able to carry the guitar on the plane and if you ask nicely, the flight attendants will usually store it in a safe place (a closet, etc). An inter...

Re: TAB/Chord Sheet Sites?

I don't use it often but I've had decent luck with Chordie:

Re: Help this Left-handed beginner!

Hello Another lefty player here. I struggled with the decision whether to learn to play lefty or right initially. I decided to play lefty as that was most comfortable and "natural" for me. I have had no problem finding suitable lefty guitars (acoustic or electric) but there are certainly more righty...

Re: Favorite Beatles Tunes

Hmmm... hard to pick just one...

Off the top of my head I'd pick:

"And Your Bird Can Sing"

"I've Just Seen A Face"

"Rain"

Re: The Rosetta Stone of Guitar

Hmmm... why didn't I think of that? It looks like it works! If I open the frame.swf file with a web browser (e.g. Safari or Firefox) it seems to work properly :D The quizzes and Forum link don't work properly though. It looks like the quizzes aren't accessible because of an Adobe Flash security sett...

Re: The Rosetta Stone of Guitar

Fred If I try to open the "frame.exe" file, it says there is no default application to open it with. This doesn't surprise me as I always thought that an executable file (*.exe) on a PC isn't executable on a Mac. I'm using an iMac (2 GHz Intel Core Duo) running Mac OS X version 10.4.11. I can run th...

Re: The Rosetta Stone of Guitar

Another satisfied customer here :D Nick's review did sound "too good to be true" but I've come to trust the folks at GN and the price sounded very reasonable - particularly with the discount. I haven't spent a lot of time with Rosetta Stone yet but I'm excited by it and I can see how it can open up ...

Re: Help a confused lefty!

Reed Another ambidextrous lefty here - write lefty, throw righty, etc. I had the same dilemma as you but finally decided to learn to play lefty. Playing lefty (ie. strumming with the left hand) felt the most natural to me - it was how I play air guitar! I'm sure I could have learned righty as most l...

Newsletter? I haven't seen one in so long, I forgot they existed! Might have got lost in Spam filters so I just changed my profile to a more "user-friendly" email address of mine.
