Re: New Here

Hey Peppermint: I just got back on the board a couple of days ago, after...12 years looks like. It's been about that long since I picked up a guitar myself. It's like starting all over again; finger strength, placement - the whole thing. I can kind of relate actually :) Lots of great people here to ...

Re: What effects are on this song please?

Sounds like the guitarist is using the volume knob on the guitar while bending the strings. Either the volume knob or a volume pedal;either will give sweeping increase in volume while hiding the initial attack of pick-against-string. Listen to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMcjPZgK9GM starting at ...

Re: Odd warbling / ringing of strings

Sounds almost like one or more of the pickups are physically vibrating against the pickguard. Try physically holding the pickups down with your fingertips on the adjustment screws while plucking a note; see if it's one or more of them. If so, temporarily put a little white electrical tape over the s...

Re: How the Electric Guitar Killed My Technique

Hey there Gabriel! I sort of had the same experience way back when, long ago, so I can sort of relate to it. Not knowing your exact guitars and how they're setup, i.e. string gauge, the truss-rod adjustments and therefore the 'action' of each guitar, I'd have to guess that your original acoustic mig...

The acoustic guitar amps I've seen and read about usually are closed back (for better bass response), with a tweeter. When I compared it to my little Fender Bassman 100, it's basically a closed back amp with a tweeter. I think the acoustic amps have more tone and feedback control knobs, but...they'r...

Carry one around in your pocket and just reach in there and hold it; sort of while you're not really concentrating on it. Bring it out and hold it, turn it around in your fingers - maybe when you're sitting at work or at a desk - and it starts to become second nature.

Oh I actually didn't get it - just today saw it on eBay (from that company with tons of double-necked everythings. It's obvious it's the same guys who made the Artisan laps that have flooded the market. BUT...for me at least, it would be that A6 (like the CEGACE C6 tuning only tuned downward), and.....

The Zone (or bubble) - yah, I've experienced it, though...after awhile, hopefully, you get to the point where you can drop into the zone as soon as the stage lights come on or the curtains open, you're 'there'; and then, just as quickly, you can 'turn it off' so to speak. I've experienced it, especi...
