Hey and welcome. It may not be your amp. It may be the your cables, your guitar, or your electrical system...so: Questions: 1. What kind of guitar do you have/use? Do you have more than one to plug in? 2. What kind of amp is it? 3. Same with cables, Do you have more than one instrument cable? If not...

I always wash my hands before I play. I also use a towel, especially in the summer to wipe me hands during playing to minimize the sweat.

Re: Think I found my new guitbox :)

G/L that's a pretty big investment.

I'd play a LOT, 10's and 10's and 10's of guitars before I spend that amount. :)

Re: Couple of questions about tabs in Guitar Pro

Can't answer the 1st question as I've never seen that before.

You are correct on the second.. slide from and to those frets.

Tied notes means you sustain the note for the indicated amount of time (those hoops from note to note.) wilst sliding :)

Burnt Hendrix guitar to be sold in London

LONDON (Reuters) - One of Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitars, set alight on a London stage more than 40 years ago and thought to have been lost forever, is to be auctioned later this year. The guitar, a 1965 Fender Stratocaster, was famously doused with lighter fuel and set alight by the rock legend d...

The Paladins - rockabilly !!

I got to see a Rock-a-billy band called The Paladins recently and I wanted to share. :) I was first a fan of rock-a-billy back in the 80's with the Stray Cats rise to fame. Anyhoo I got to see them in a small venue and lemme tell you, these guys rocked!! The stand-up bassist was incredible. What a f...

Re: What exactly are broken Chords?

If I'm not mistaken.. a broken chord is simply not play the 'full' chord.

Example a G maj chord:

Code: Select all

e --3---
B --0---
G --0---
D --0---
A --2---
E --3---
Then "Broken"

Code: Select all

e --3---
B --0---
G --0---
D ------
A ------
E ------

Re: Chord progression tips

If you can afford them I'd suggest getting some lessons or at the very least visit a book store or better yet a music store and get some beginner books for the guitar. There are many flavors out there all coming to the same relative conclusions: -basic finger exercises -basic chords (open chords) -b...

Re: Chord progression tips

I remember spending countless evenings in front of the TV with my guitar in hand or by my side...when ever a commercial would come on I'd pick it up and chord around. At first I only practiced the different chords. I'd randomly choose one of the open chords mainly A-C-E-D-G. To keep things interesti...
