Re: Hendrix - was he really that good?

I have to come onside for Jimi. He was just a very viceral dude. He made noise but did it in a real way. He was very focused on making his guitar sound like actual things and if that meant going outside of harmony then he wasn't afraid to go there. He really grounded alot of his personal experiences...

Re: Marshall 15DFX question!

The place to go where they will have an opinion on your question is www.rukind.com but I think Greybeard's answer is pretty much dead on. Ignoring the effects that JG used in various songs. You are basically want to play clean and then use the the dynamics of your playing and the knobs and switches ...

Re: robin guthrie

I have been playing around with mobius http://www.circularlabs.com/ . I use a usb pre-amp to my laptop and sound out to my pa or guitar amp. I picked up a usb keyboard for 2 bucks at a thrift store which I put on the floor and use as a footswitch. It's not super heavy duty it is definitely a great w...

Broken Adapter - Don't want to fry pedal with Replacement.

So I plugged in my digitech rp 500 pedal today and there was no response. I'm currently assuming that the adaptor is damaged. I had left it plugged in when I unplugged it from the pedal. I went to a couple of thrift stores and found what looks to be a suitable replacement but I don't really have any...

Wish I'd Bitten at the iphone

Seeing this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAllFWSl998 makes me wish I'd sprung for the iphone. It's not every day one can write off an instrument as a business expense. That is at least until I decide to declare myself to be a professional. Oh well 2 1\2 more years and my current plan on my B...

Re: Help Choosing A Multi Effects Floor Unit

Ok from the manual page 8 there are diagrams that follow just google the manual. I have a RP 500 and it definitely doesn't do this. Making Connections There are lots of ways to connect the RP1000 to amps, effects, mixers, and other equipment. Before connecting the RP1000 to anything, make sure both ...

Re: Shameless Pitch for my nine year old

Sorry about not posting an update on the contest until now. We were on sales and sampling trip/summer holiday on the coast with our four kids and decided to stay until Tuesday morning to avoid ferry line ups (we still had three hours) to the mainland on labour day. Suffice to say we've been running ...

Re: Using Multi-Effects pedal live

Generally speaking with multi-effects pedals. More buttons are preferable, however often the pedals can have different modes assigned to them which you can assign patches ie performance mode vs edit mode. It looks like the boss pedal you are looking at has different assignable functions for its peda...

Re: Shameless Pitch for my nine year old

Definitely one way or another she's going. I figure though since she went through the effort to rehearse and got up her nerve to sing and then listened to the radio constantly so she could phone in and be caller number #1. As well, since then she's taken the initiative to poster various places with ...
