Is that a Peavey switch? I don't remember having that problem with mine using my bandit switch.

Re: I Think I just Got a Nice Deal

BTW, you do know that GC owns MF, right? and MF owns Harmony Central Yeas, & also Music123 & I think also ZZounds, i had seen that guitar on the "Stupid deal of the day" & was kinda considering it, but I had prev. purchased 2 guitars just recently, so I couldn't go for a third or I would be sleepin...

Re: First time doing work on my guitar, help!

What don't you like about the tuners and pups? The Grovers should work well and sometimes the pups sound good too.

I have an Epi LP. I'm getting ready to do a simple mod and that is to replace that crap pup switch that does not work half the time.

Well if the others are in great condition then no, just replace the damaged ones and level and dress all when finished.

Re: Nut File Kits

Yup, price is a major contributing factor. I'm awaiting my new Stewmac crowning file. I think Stewmac gets a kickback from shipping as one file cost $8.50 to ship :(

Re: Self criticism...

I'm my own worse critic. If you think just recording yourself is bad, video tape it. Surely to hit home. I just did a video of me playing for another site in a lesson learning thread called "pentatonic boot camp". I made the video at least 15 times. I thought they all were terrible and said so. I'm ...

The Peavey Vypyr 15 has a studio quality line out as well as headphones. Pretty cool amp for the price.

Re: How to get that tube sound!

Tubes aren't that much. I just saw two ads yesterday that grabbed my attention. A Sunn A212 made in the 70's that needs tubes $150.00, toss in $80.00 for new tubes and for $230 you got a kick butt amp. Another one was a brand new Peavey Windsor 100w head that was only two weeks old(dude lost his job...

Re: How to get that tube sound!

Hey tonesearcher, go used. Lots of good deals out there. For example, I saw an ad for someone selling a 100w Valveking with a marshall 4X12 cab for $400.00.

Re: single coil noise

You could use something like a Mega Switch from Stew-mac. It will combine the singles to act like humbuckers. However, if you have humbucking single sized pup's it will not work, like the Duckbucker mentioned above.
