Re: Amp vs Amp Modelling Software

Maybe a bit late, but you need to redesign your survey. First I listen to two clips in one video, clip 1 and clip 2, then asks which one the real amp was. The problem is that the answers are Amp or Software when it should be clip 1 or clip 2. This topic interests me as I can't stand the sound of dig...

Re: Would a portable, screwless wall mount interest you?

I would buy it must definitively and so would a lot of people. If it's just as safe as the ones you drill holes for. The thing is the ones I have now don't feel 100 % safe because the walls are of some weird material where if you try to drill a hole it only gets bigger and not deeper. So I've solved...

Re: Visiting Central London

I don't live in London (wish I did), but the last time I was there in 2012 I visited Blues Kitchen in Camden which had a great live band with the best harmonica player I ever seen. They have live music every night so it could be worth to check out.

This is how it sounds like now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ino1NGr ... e=youtu.be

Couldn't be bothered about the playing in this video though, so just some noodling.

Re: Decent copies of Gibson Les Paul

Japanese lawsuit copies seem to have the most consistent quality of all the Les Paul models that cost around £1000. Look for used Tokai, Burny, Greco and Edwards. You could also get a Gibson Studio for this price, but they seem not to be as consistent in quality. But if you have time to find a good ...

Re: Bought a '59 Jimmy Page Les Paul...

So an update almost two years later for those interested. Always appreciated if someone comes here from a google search anyway even though it's an old thread (felt like yesterday I bought this guitar). So two weekends ago I just browsed the local sell/buy music gear page and saw a 20 year old Seymou...

Where to buy stuff for your lap steel?

Hello, I got a lap steel Christmas 2012, but have used it very little. The problem was I had it in my lap(!) which makes everything much harder than it needs to be. So yesterday I tried putting it on my keyboard stand and playing standing up instead and what a difference! Now I can't stop playing, i...

Re: Bridge humbucker cuts out when I touch the neck humbucke

To me, it sounds like a wiring problem. Which is good, because it shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Re: Does this amp exist?

I would suggest a 1-5 Watt tube amp. If you want good overdrive I think the only options are tube amps, but I don't know what to recommend. Just try some and find out what you like. You might like the Blackstar HT-1, but I don't know how good clean tones it produces. This video convinced me: http://...

Re: copyright question

35$ per song! That is expensive compared to Sweden. Here you just register your song on the STIM-website for free. And on our copyright-webpage they recommend the "poor mans copyright"! Well, 35$ is not that much, if you actually make money on your songwriting, but it's a bit much for the casual son...

Haha, great!

Just saw the film Backbeat about their early Hamburg days. It would be nice if there was some recorded video from their rock'n'roll days. But the last song in this recording will do for now!

Re: Bought a '59 Jimmy Page Les Paul...

I'm playing through a Laney VC15 amp. All tube, 15 watts, voiced towards classic rock, great sounding, one 10" speaker. If you're not familiar with Laney, which I'm you sure you are, they are close to Marshall in sound being British. I think I still want something hotter than the Alnico II pro, on S...

Re: Bought a '59 Jimmy Page Les Paul...

Found a review of the guitar which actually contains a lot information I was wondering about. http://pickroar.com/504/edwards-e-lp-98lts-review/ I thought the part about the long neck tenon was very interesting as an example. I just found this because I was searching for a better bridge humbucker fo...

Re: Perspiration

Do you get nervous? I don't know if it has something to do with it, but it could be an explanation. I've never had this problem, but my former bass player used to sweat buckets. And he didn't seem to get very nervous. Almost all pro musicians you see on stage has a lot of sweat, but I think a lot of...

Re: Bought a '59 Jimmy Page Les Paul...

I like to know when a guitar is made too, so I'm really grateful you did the job for me. How did you get that information? Google didn't help me very much, but I havn't got any experience searching serial numbers. The owner before me was one of the salesmen in the guitarshop and he had owned for two...
