Re: Can a guitar freeze to death?

So, let's see it man! Congrats on the new axe. 8) Now, why didn't they send me a coupon? Dirty low down rotten stinkin' filthy money grabbers! Dan I spent a half hour yesterday looking through my mail trying to find a coupon and I couldn't. Then I tried searching online and, though I couldn't...

How did you get the coupon? I'm thinking of spending about $400 this week. That would really help.

Bass Amp/Cab question

I'm shopping for a new bass rig and I think I might go for a head/cab instead of a combo. So now you know this is going to be a question about ohms right? Well, it's actually about Watts  There is a ton of information on the Internet about this stuff and I've read a lot about it, but I"m...

Re: Cheap electric for travel? Squier Bullet?

My son has a Squire Mini Strat that I bought for him when he was 7. I think it is the same as the "Bullet" but I don't think it was called "Bullet" back then. It's black with a white pickguard. I have to say it plays remarkably well for a small $99 guitar. I'll probably never sell it even though he'...

Re: Who needs scales? memorize fretboard?

In the long run, brute force is a far better method for mastering the guitar. Spend 15 minutes a day working on it (I made flash cards with note names when I was learning), and in a few week's you'll know it. I made a couple spreadsheets to help me with learning the fretboard and I thought I would ...

Learning the Fretboard

I made a spreadsheet for myself to help me memorize my fretboard and I thought I would share it with all of you. There is one for 4-string bass and another for 6-string guitar. Let me know what you think. You can download them here: http://mysite.verizon.net/dsword/FB-Guitar.xls http://mysite.verizo...

Re: Looking for a basic blues pedal

If you have a tube amp, try the Behringer TO800. Some people compare it to the Ibanez Tube Screamer. I've never tried a Tube Screamer myself, but I really like my TO800 with my Epiphone Valve Standard. And for $30, it's worth a shot. http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-Vintage-Tube-Sound-Overdrive-Effec...

Re: electric strings

I'm with Ricochet whatever is cheapest or on sale in my size: 10's on electric and 11's on acoustic. D'addario seems to be in every store and they are fairly inexpensive. I tried a bunch of different strings a while back and I couldn't tell the difference.

Re: What did you get for Christmas 2007?

Doesn't winter up north really suck? I guess it would if you didn't like cold weather and snow. But if you don't mind, or actually some people enjoy it, winter up north is wonderful. Ice skating outside on a frozen pond, skiing and snow shoeing are just some of the things that are tough, if not imp...
