Very true.

I spent some time at Jim Morrison's grave site in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. There are quite a few famous people buried there. They give you a map at the front gate so you can find them all.

Re: New Guitar demands a new amp! (help)

I've seen used Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amps on craigslist going for around $400. One of Fender's best selling amps. Very nice clean channel. You need to try it out.

Re: Beginner's guitar

My son has a 3/4 sized Dean Playmate that sound pretty good. The tuners are cheap and the neck isn't too great, but it was only $75. I have a Art & Lutherie AMI with a solid cedar top that I use for camping trips. It sounds very good for its small size. Very bluesy. The neck is a little thick though...

Re: New Gretsch..what was I thinking?!

I was looking for a used Strat at Guitar Center last week and almost walked out with the 5120 in black. That guitar rocks! It's anything but twangy! The only reason I didn't buy it was because I already have a guitar with humbuckers. If I ever decide to get rid of it, I'll replace it with a Gretsch....

Re: Getting an AD30VT today!

I don't think it would be bad if you told the seller that you are having second thoughts or even ask if he would go down some on the price. That's what happens. I've bought and sold countless items on Craigslist and I've always had good experiences. As long as you are honest with the person, I bet t...

Re: For Those About To GAS - We Salute You!

I'm going to sell my MIM Strat so I can purchase an American Standard or HW1. I think I may have to visit some Guitar Centers and see if they will give me that deal! How do you like the neck? I'm not sure I'd like jumbo frets since I have a heavy touch. Someone posted this link a while back: http://...

Re: Strange Problem but Funny in Retrospect

My acoustic guitar sits on a stand a few feet from my 15 Watt tube amp. I can play an open string on my electric when it's plugged into the tube amp and make the same string on the acoustic vibrate all by itself. Also, if I dime both the gain and master knobs on the amp, most of the crap in my house...

I'm in the middle of BYCU, also. I'm wondering if anyone has finished this book and then purchased any of the other books in this series. "More Blues You Can Use", "Blues Licks You Can Use"...

Re: no sound

Is there a light on the amp? Is the amp plugged in? Push the instrument cable in ALL the way.

Re: My new Fender...

I just saw a MIM Fender Classic '50s reissue Strat posted on Craigslist today for $350. Hmmm, I have to get rid of my standard first. I've been thinking of getting a used MIA standard or older Highway one. Now I think I may check these out. http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/msg/461966459.html Nice gu...

Re: Gig bag

I got the hardshell case from Musician's Friend about a week ago, and I am 100% satisfied. My SG fits perfect it it, and it has a nice big pocket inside for my strap and guitar cord. Seems very durable and is pretty attractive too. :D It has very thick but soft cushioning inside top and bottom. Ver...
