Master and Slave

Hi, everyone (%

I'd like to know all the ins-and-outs of slaving an amp.... Specifically, a Fender Blues DeVille (Slave).

Is it as simple as plugging the Head into the line-in on the DeVille?

Thankx in advance to all who can help (%

Re: Highway One Strat finish

Hey. As far as I know, the finish on Hwy 1 guitars is a light lacquer. Not Nitro Lac though. Fender usually calls it, Gloss Lacquer, though it's a satin finish on the Hwy 1's. It should be a bit harder than a nitro lac finish, and may wear longer. Also, it prob has some sort of urethane undercoating...

Re: Using .008's

Hey, Cat. Well, I guess it's because I have no practical reason to have to change them. I'm not a professional player. It doesn't really bother me. Old strings get a sort of funky sound to them. IIRC, Robbie Krieger from The Doors was never one to change his strings. He attributed his sound to old s...

Re: Guitar MYTHBUSTING - check this out!

Ah - I know many of you were waiting for me to get around to this one  Recording - With the equipment I have (my mic is my webcam), the best recorded sound I can get is when I turn the amp down so low, that the sound is the lowest it can be that I can still hear while I play. Then I hang the w...

Re: Using .008's

Hi :) Hmmmm.... When I started playing I used EB 8's. Couldn't stand 'em then, still wont use EB strings to this day. Have tried lots of different combos over the years. Back when I played a lot, I preferred 10's. These days, I'll stick with 9's. My favorite strings are GHS Pure Nickel Rockers. Love...

Hey, John :D

If it were me, I'd go with some sort of Gold Foil pup - Like it originally came with.

Re: Random Gear Pic

Here's a pic of the Harmony amp. Took awhile to track it down. Sorry, no beer in this pic.
The guitar is a 91-92 Ovation Custom Balladeer cedar top.

Re: Random Gear Pic

Hey, Roy (% That would be my very first guitar.... A hand-me down from my uncle's uncle, to him, to my dad, to me. It's a type II Alden Tuxedo Single Pickup 9908 Hollowbody/Harmony H45 Stratotone Mars. It came with a Harmony H303 5 watt tube amp, dated 1962. The guitar seems to have maple sides and ...

Re: Favorite Non-Big Name Tube Amp Brands

ROY SAID: "Ken, is the amp you posted at that guitar shop the one you stumbled out of a used place for something like $350?" Yep, sure is. My amp is the same as the one I posted.... Same condition too. Think it was tagged for $650.00, and I walked out of there with it for $250.00 flat. Couldn't be h...
