Re: My First Resonator

Hey, Roy :D

Wow, tone sounds great both ways! 8)
I wouldn't worry about quality or construction.... Adds to the flavor of a slide guitar
And yeah, it sure is pretty!

Love the 'Easy Rider' poster in the back!

Re: Favorite Non-Big Name Tube Amp Brands

Hey :) Well, I just LOVE my tube amp :D Would really like to get another for a backup. http://www.superiormusic.com/page079.htm It's was licensed to Laub by Magnatone. So I guess I like old Maggies.... Except, it doesn't have the same tube compliment that the Maggie it's based on has. So, it's sort ...

Re: 9/49 3 stories

Wow :D

Those are all great stories!
And all wonderfully well written.

I don't have a guess as of yet.... I'll go over them a few more times.

Re: Y9W49 Three Stories

Hey James :D

Nice stories.... I enjoyed each one. Thankx for the read :D

My guesses are:
1st Story - Lie
2nd Story - Real
3rd Story - From movie/book.

Re: Y9W48 Two Doors

Hey James :D Sorry, I'm not familiar with that story :( Thankx for clearing that up for me though! :) Don't know what it is that had me so confused....? I think it may be because of the way it jumps around.... I just couldn't get a handle on it. Ex - It starts out, The princess and the pauper.... Om...

Re: Y9W48 Two Doors

I wrote: "What would we do!? I know what I would do - Stay with the girl So, of course, what does the Hero in the song do - He leaves on the train. How does that make us feel?" In the first two verses of the song, it's set up so that he mentions the lack of time (suspense), the interactive love with...

Re: Y9W48 Two Doors

Hey James :D Interesting story - I can see Cecil B. DeMille directing it! As far as conflict (as pertains to the assignment), I'm not sure you quite got there. First off - Who is the hero, and who is the story about? The 'pauper' or the King? The King comes off as the antagonist - The one who...

Wk 48 - Conflict

Part 1 - Examples Well, I'm gonna try and keep the subject matter as simple as possible - Surprised? :D 1) The Monkees - What am I Doin' Hangin' Around. Pretty straightforward what the conflict in the song is. Boy meets girl/boy falls in love with girl/boy has to make a hasty exit.... Ah, but that's...

Re: 9/48 *Conflict* When Land is Taken By the Sea

Hey there :D If I'm not mistaken, there seems to be some conflict going on here....? Nick, does this qualify MrEWorm to get extra points for injecting real conflict into this weeks assignment? Alright - All kidding aside now. Let's see if we can clarify some things. Feel free to agree or disa...

Re: Yr9-Wk44 My Notes

Thursday (9/22) I started writing something today. Had two iffy verses and a part of a chorus.... Then I took a shower. Which gave me the finish to the chorus :D This one just might go somewhere, and soon. It will be vague, of course. Don't know if it will qualify for this weeks assignment though.....

Re: How many people like worn vintage guitars?

+1 here. I've got/had a few real vintage/worn out guitars. And I love 'em! Played several new 'vintaged' guitars - Didn't like 'em at all. Not only do they look unnatural, they FEEL unnatural. My old 60's hollowbody has yellowed bindings and knobs with cracked and worn nitro finish, but it was my fi...

Re: Y9 WK44 - Chris C Notes

Thankx, s1120 :D I like the croaking toad idea 8) Someday I'll have to put something together using only sounds from the night - Cicadas, crickets, toads, owls, wolves, etc. Ken Edit: This is the second time I've made reference to Cicada's singing at night.... As far as I know, they don't. When it c...

Re: Yr9-Wk44 My Notes

Thursday - Who Are You Tonight That's all I got :( *edit So, as I was doing something menial with my mind disengaged, I came up with this: it took You so long to put Us behind tell me.... who are You, this time (Night rhymes with time) And I smiled to myself - Who are You, this time, sounds much be...
