Re: Little EP for the hungry

Thanks. :)

Nuno: yeah, track #6 a little morbid (but hopefully musical) joke. the title is basically the answer to the question asked in the original children song, in major. Mahler indeed had the habbit of doing the same, with the exception he usually denied any such influences.

Little EP for the hungry

Hey folks, been terribly busy lately but I'm still alive, sort of. :P Finished a little sideproject and figured I'd throw it online. It's a free download but if anyone considers it worth some bucks please just donate it to Haiti, they probably need it more then I (or hopefully any of us here!) do. :...

Re: Some Videos By Me

Cool man, your voice works very well with these songs. One-take, one-track recordings really are what seperate the men from the boys, so to speak. Got any gigs planned locally? If not, you should!

Re: Pink Floyd: Were Post Waters' Albums Good PF Music

Just MHO but I dont rate Gilmour very highly as songwriter. I love his solo's but as far as songcraft go I have to go with Syd first, closely followed by Waters.

I ain't dead!

Been terribly awkwardly oddly busy, sucks I couldnt check GN out more. Anyhow, I havent been totally lazily inactive so the album is now done and some of the US preorders are already on their way. Already with a pinch of salt I guess. And to prove I'm not a borg from Planet Borgistan here's a...

Re: The best of GN (yeah, talking to YOU!) UPLOADED!

I was thinking, anyone up for a new version? Loads of folks have joined GN since the last one and I'm sure many of those who joined in last time have some new ideas. I learned a whole lot lately production-wise so if anyone is up for it I'll fire up a new topic for a brand new Best of GN. :D

Re: EP is released!

Sounds good, loads of energy throughout! It's all pretty tight, good attitude of the vocalist, too. :) Only downside is the mix a bit, or the recording process. The low end is really tame, including the drum. It makes it sound less massive then it really is. But for the rest big props, will this be ...

Re: Mix Question

If you're just starting with mixing and have problems with clipping a good idea is to use limiters. Digital distortion is very hard to prevent without them, espescially with highly dynamic signals like DI'd e-guitar, vocals and such. Once the basic tracks are distortion-free a basic comp/limiter on ...

Re: I've joined the ranks of old farts :(

Heh, thanks David. :) The sax is from Liquid Instruments/Ueberschall. They have their own approach to sampling: instead of using mlisecond-samples and glue them back together they recorded longer phrases, a ton of them, and then teamed up with the guys who made Melodyne (a kind of vocal autotuner). ...

I've joined the ranks of old farts :(

I watched an ad on MTV lately pushing one of their programs. I never thought I'd say this at the age of 24 but I really dont get MTV anymore. Or the people who watch it. Here's a little song i wrote about it, I translated the lyrics. http://www.box.net/shared/0hr260p6x7 An old fart of 24 I turn on t...
