Difference Between Old and New Blues Jrs

I rented a Blues Jr for a month to try before I buy. I am really enjoying it

It is one of the older models not the (III) version. The one I rented has been rented a few times and is about $400, new they are worth $515. Is the new one worth the extra cash?

Re: Guitar Static problem

Must be the time of year? I have been dealing with this as well. I sprayed some static guard on a rag an rubbed it on the pickguard and put a humidifier in the room and the popping has not returned in a week. I also shielded my guitar including the pickguard which is supposed to help. The quick and ...

Re: You've Got a Friend - New Acoustic Fingerstyle

Great Job! and a nice guitar. Alvarez guitars are nice I had one just like yours a few years ago and traded it in on a more expensive guitar. Now I wish I had it back.

Very smooth playing and a nice clear recording.

Gnease can you contact my wife and tell her why I need a PRS? She never believes me.

Re: Static Popping with my Tele

Hmmm. I just stuck the foil to the inside of the cavity. Would that be too close. One of them (the bridge I think was big enough for a humbucker) but the copper is not all that close to the pickups. The guitar still sounds good I jsut adjusted the amp a little. After a couple of days I have to say t...

Re: Static Popping with my Tele

I found some copper tape at Lee Valley Tools Slug repellant of all things. It took about 2 hours for me to line the pickup cavities and control cavity with copper and do a little soldering. It was kind of fun too. Results: There is still some humm unfortunatly no miracles. However it does not get wo...

Re: Static Popping with my Tele

Thanks guys, I didn't have any dryer sheets last night but I did try some "Static Guard" which comes in a spray can. I put some on a cloth and gave it a a rub. No popping. It does seem to get a lot of hum etc though. I may look into shielding the guitar. Which seems like a lot of work. Any suggestio...

Static Popping with my Tele

I have an American Std Tele (white). The last few weeks I have had a popping noise when I strum. I have researched it and I am led to believe that it is due to static electricity between me and the pickguard. Does anyone know of a solution for this? I have heard some involving anti-static dryer shee...

Re: buying advice/opinions

It looks like you have a couple of different price points there so remember you might not be comparing apples to apples. I used to own a Hagstrom Viking and it was very nice and I wish I still had it. It was comfortable had a wide variety of tones and looked cool. I have played a Sheraton a couple o...

Re: Fender Super Champ XD

I have had one for about 2 years. I like it a lot. I only play at home so I can't comment on gigging with it or anything. I find it quite versatile with all the models (there is only a couple I use regularly). The clean channel gets the mos use from me, often with a overdrive pedal. When it was a mo...

Re: Looking for a great blues book

I use Amazing Slow Downer & I really like it. It is cheap and easy to use. It also plays itunes format directly (maybe they all do that) which makes life a little easier.
