Careful Vic this could be your route to fame!

Remember Macca had a song come to him in a dream and 'Yestereday' was that song.

Re: Motivation

Good timeline list Vic After 5 years I'm somewhere in between "Horse With No Name" and "Hey! I managed the solo from" You go through bad patches and then you surprise yourself and advance in leaps and bounds. It's all part of this guitar world we live through. IMHO I still a lousy guitarist but I do...

Re: The Beeb's Glastonbury Coverage

I didn't mean I don't like Auntie Beeb Vic,

Perish the thought!!!

It's just that I found all the DJ's link chatter and interuptions a bit tiresome. The filming and sound recording of all the artists I saw was as always matchless.

All the best chris

Re: The Beeb's Glastonbury Coverage

I thought the coverage was reasonable (I reviewed most of the acts you have mentioned Vic in the "Reviews of Shows" thread). The thing that annoyed me most was Radcliffe & Co saying something like "Neil Young or Bruce Springsteen is on behind us as you can hear" but they wouldn't switch live to thes...

Glastonbury 2009

Watched loads of this year's festival on TV over the weekend. Just stunning!!! Highlights for me: Fleetfoxes: Brilliant and talented newcomers that for me are worthy successors to Crosby Stills & Nash. Neil Young: You never know what you are going to get with him but his set list was right on the bu...

Re: Happy Birthday Vic Lewis!

Happy Birthday Vic,

I'll be putting another song on the ESD tonight in your honour mate. Played it at the open mic on Wednesday and it went ok even with minimal practice so it must be perfect for the ESD. Could have done with your dry vocal style on it though.

Cheers mate,

Re: GN 2009 Jam At Scrybes (Report)

Great job guys, Good steady rhythm work there Vic. Awesome lead work Scrybe. I second Roy's comment on your eyesight Scrybe. Just incredible! Where I play open mic the guy who runs it is very precious about where he has placed the music stand relative to the microphone. It's ok if you are sat down b...

Re: Alan Green - Redundancy and Music

Great article Alan, Just been through the same redundancy thing myself but in engineering. Strange how the boss comes out with the same script, no matter what company or job you are in. Afraid I'm not good enough at guitar to do what you did, but I got back into work in about the same timespan as yo...

Relocated

Hi everybody, Been off the boards for a while. A combination of events: Mainly due to the current recession I lost my job (made repugnant er! redundant again) Fifth time it's happened. We already had our house on the market as we were hoping to move nearer my wife's business location back to good ol...

Re: The Beatles Remastered

Another update on The Beatles Remastered.

It's spooky that they are choosing 09/09/09 for the roll out. John's least favourite number!

Dennis Locorriere

Been meaning to put up a review for Dennis Locorriere (Of Dr Hook fame) for some months now. Wife and I travelled down to Truro in Cornwall at the tail end of last yearto see Dennis in concert at "The Hall For Cornwall" What a fantastic evening we had. Dennis puts on a very intimate one man show. Al...

Re: Rock'n'Roll Biographies

Yeah Vic , Great read, Cynthia's book on life with John. I lent it to a friend and still haven't got it back. Also Rodders recommended Eric Clapton's autobiography. I picked it up and found I couldn't put it down, again a brilliant read. Eric opens up his heart warts and all from his massive ego and...

Re: Beginner's videos

I think Isabelle deserves some sort of GN award for starting and maintaining interest in this thread. (maybe a GN Tshirt/mug or something else from the GN shop). What do you think moderators? I know the thread had a mention a few months back by David Hodge in the Guitarnoise news. It's got to hold s...

Re: Day Trippers.....

Great pics Vic,

This homeland of yours is becoming a bit of a pilgrimage mecca for GN members. I've really got to get up there this year for a guitar sabbatical and maybe have a jam session too.

Re: Happy Birthday Rodders!

Hi Rod's bruvver here, I was meant to be in the garage rockin' with Rodders on Wednesday but he called to cancel. Seems he will be out of action guitarwise for a little while. Took a fall at work and broke his arm and is all plastered up. At least it happened after his Birthday. Get well soon Rod! C...
