Re: They Came, They Saw, They Jammed.....

Hey don't forget Rodders and me! If you draw a line on that map between the red dots of Birmingham and Oxford we live in the middle of that line at Cheltenham on the edge of the Cotswolds. Bit of rock history: Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones was born and raised here and sadly was buried here too y...

Re: They Came, They Saw, They Jammed.....

Hey Vic & Scrybe! Did we Southwesterners down here in freezing cold sleety Gloucestershire miss out on something over the bank holiday. It sounds like you all had a great jam up there in Liverpool. I didn't manage to get near my guitar over Easter. Doubt if Rodders did either. Lets see the piccies t...

Re: Older Beginners?

I first bought a guitar aged about 18 many, many, moons ago. Tried to play for about three months but had a lot of trouble learning as I'm hopelessly left handed. Never thought of swapping the strings over at the time (wish I had though). Anyway started playing again about 4 years ago aged nearly 50...

Re: A Sad Day....

Yes, George was a great loss. I miss his music especially from the "All Things Must Pass" era. Still one of the greatest albums of all time IMHO. He was one of the good guys with a great insight into life and blessed with a wonderful sense of deadpan dry humour. I think in the end he saw his lord an...

Good picture Scrybe,

And just look at those other guitars just hanging around in the picture waiting to be played.

Re: Third time lucky? UK Get-together? 2008?

Hey don't panic Wattsiepoops!!! I'm sure that everyone who turns up will at different levels of ability. I'm nearly in my mid 50's (18 till I die though!) and I've only been playing for about 4 years. Still learning scales and struggling with barre chords, but I can provide a good driving rhythm to ...

Re: Teenagers Shouldn't Drive

Over here in the UK driving lessons are very expensive. I know because we bought some for our youngest son (who is 21 by the way) for Christmas. Roughly 4 hours worth of lessons cost us £100 (approx $197). That was with British School Of motoring (BSM)and they recommend at least 12 one hour lessons...

Re: Third time lucky? UK Get-together? 2008?

At the moment the 15th is certainly ok with me Vic.

Not sure of any plans yet for Aug Bank Hol but nearer to that date I might be able to say yes to that too.

I've emailed Rodders but had no response from him yet.

Re: So I get this phone call....

Seen it Vic,

Well I thought it was pretty good mate, liked the way you two shared the solo sections.

Sorry! but I told Rodders too.

He's the expert on all this Fender bending Hendrix stuff so I'll leave him to forward his thoughts personally.

All the best

Re: Third time lucky? UK Get-together? 2008?

Good to have you back Vic, Saw your jam session on gigs & jams page. great stuff! and you didn't need to read the lyrics like me. I'd have a real problem without a crib sheet in front of me. Is that the Victoria pub around the corner from your place? Anyway N-L-W is still good for me at the moment a...
