Re: What are scales?

I keep seeing this title and I can't help but throw in my .02

A scale is an organization of pitch classes defined by a set of intervals. For example, the Major Scale is defined by the intervals whole whole half whole whole whole half.

Re: Any famous guitarists that learned to play late in life?

Mogan Freeman didn't get an acting gig until he was 35 and his first major role wasn't until he was in his 50s. Never give up.

Re: What are some of the best PC Amp Software to Pair up with a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2

I want the focusrite, I have a mac and a PC laptop. I'm probably leaning toward the mac for recording. Only because that's what most people I know use.

What's your price range? Mine's probably under 400. idk. I'm still deciding on a lot of things

Re: Old dude with a stringed noisemaker

GOOD JOB BOYS!! The wife & dog bits are funny too :) You dont need to read music to play well. You do need to know how to get info off the page and into the guitar. That can be tabs, scale/chord charts, OR reading music. Obviously the more formats you can 'read' the more material you'll have at your...

Re: Plateauing

if you can afford lessons try lessons. Otherwise try to develop a routine. Google it, & if you're still frustrated DM me and I'll help you out. Other than that. Pick a song you think you could handle and start learning it. TBH you don't need to read music to play well. You DO need to read music to g...

Re: Begginer looking to purchase a guitar.

First don't buy a left handed guitar. Even if you've spent the last 2 months learning backwards. The sooner you switch the better. Second, I really like dogbite's idea of having them try out the different guitars for you! It's really invaluable if you can hear the guitar first! If you can take a fri...

Re: Can't follow the beats

I actually recommend finding the chords in a simple tune like Sublime or Bob Marley. Play those chords in the right order 1 chord per 4 beats (measure) then 1 chord per 2 beats (half notes) then 1 chord per beat. Then finally play along with the song.

Hope it helps!

USA fender strat - less than what I paid

Yamaha AES 720 & 520 worth way more than what they go for.
