Re: Weird String Experience

I just did my first fret level ever Saturday. To my surprise it was pretty easy and sure made the guitar sound and play so much better. But yeah, that's weird if putting bigger strings fixed an action issue.

Re: discouraging fathers.

Put the guitar down, STUDY like hell, go to a good college and get AWAY from your Dad as far as possible. Get your own place and practice without having to show him a thing. You know NEZTOK, there is the possibilty that the kid needs to be pushed a bit and dad knows it or maybe as stated above, the...

Re: Combo Amp Headphone Mod

You know, for about $35.00 more you could get a Peavy Vypyr 15. Or for $30 at GC one of those Vox headphone amps that plug into the guitar then to your headphones.

Re: Finger care

Check your guitar setup. A incorrectly setup instrument will require more effort and string pressure to sound good. You really shouldn't have to press to hard.

Re: new speakers for amp

I hope I'm not to late for this. I'm a VK owner but a 112. Ya, the speakers PV uses are crap to say the least. Lots of choice out there for you, however I believe the 212 has an issue with tube clearance on one speaker. You may want to check this out. Sorry can't seem to get the url code right. just...

It's an ear thing. Learn to adjust by ear, and play to what sounds good. Different houses have different setting.

Re: Now I have my guitar...Whats a good book for beginners?

I have one of those software teachers that you can have for free. Send me a couple of bucks for shipping. I think it's the emedia version but I can't remember. I'll have to dig it out. I bought when I got back into playing after a 12 year hiatis. Way too basic for me. Will do you well. Edit, yes it ...

Re: Sweet Spot vs Cranking To 10?

To me it depends on what gear I'm playing. If I'm playing on the Blackheart amps then the gain gets cranked way up and I control most of it with the volume and tone knob on the guitar. If I'm playing the peavey amp then I will just crank the guitar to 10 and use the channel switch pedal and fine adj...

Take a look at the Blackheart killer ant. Less then 1w and has some really decent tone.
