Folsom Prison Blues -- Your Cheatin Heart

Post by Dave T » September 15th, 2009, 11:24 am

First, what a great lesson, it took me a lot of work to get the first song part of this, Folsom Prison Blues, to a decent level with the hammmer ons and alternating bass, but it feels great once it starts to click. The vocal is a bit of a struggle I'm alternating between playing it in E and pushing my voice "up" or sometimes capoing at fret 3 with the original E shapes.

Anyway, I think I am getting the distinction between straight and swing eighths in Your Cheatin Heart figured out. Is the song "Harvest" by Neil Young played in swing eights?
