SSG YR 14 WK 37

The Sunday Songwriters club is a stretching exercise for your mind. Arpeggios for the brain cells, so to speak. After all, writing is like playing - to get better, you have to practice.

SSG YR 14 WK 37

Post by Nick » July 17th, 2016, 12:28 pm

Hi all,

I'm stepping in for David this week. He'll be back soon.

This week let's take a pretty well known song from any era, any style and write your own song over it as a skeleton. Try to keep the rhyme scheme the same, including internal rhymes and honor the syllable count. This is a fantastic way to overcome writer's block.

Don't tell us what song you've copied...yet. Let's see if anyone can guess.

Peace and play well with others.

Nick
