How can i get a good sound?

Post by nomoreheroes » February 15th, 2010, 9:58 am

Hey peeps,
I'm in a band and i'm the only guitarist so i need a really strong clear and powerful distorted guitar sound,
at the moment i'm using a BOSS GT-10, however my sounds can sound very harsh or not powerful enough which is not great really. I'm trying to experiment with making new patches but how can i get a big fat distorted guitar sound like that of bands like Greenday or Avenged sevenfold? I don't really know where to start!
Any help would be much appreciated, cheers

For a fatter sound you've got several choices.

I'd suggest a touch of Chorus in your sound as the best bet, but you might find you can have some fun with an Octave pedal instead.

You're going to need to spend some more time twiddling the knobs and settings. Good tone is like the Holy Grail - we're all sure it exists and spend most of our lives wishing we sounded "better"
