Tab That Riff....

Post by Vic Lewis VL » November 4th, 2006, 6:10 pm

OK a nice new edukashernal game - someone tabs a riff out, you have to guess what it is....

I'll start......

Code: Select all

E|---------------------------------|---------------------------------|
B|-------7h8-7---------7h8p7-------|-------7h8-7---------7h8p7-------|
G|-----7-------7-----7-------7---7-|-----7-------7-----7-------7---7-|
D|---7-------------7-----------7---|---7-------------7-----------7---|
A|-5-------------5-----------------|-5-------------5-----------------|
E|---------------------------------|---------------------------------|
If you need a clue.....British band, their only #1 UK hit.....that was all played over a D chord, the next chord is A......next note is A, played on the E string, 5th fret....

:D :D :D

Ok Vic mate, I give in. I've put it into Guitar Pro 5, and Sibelius 3 and I don't have a Scooby. Please put me out of my misery
The only thing that keeps me from realising my full potential is the depressing awareness that it wouldn't take much time or effort...

Use the "Code" function. Hit the "code" button once, paste your tab (it most likely won't look like it's lining up properly, but when you submit or preview you'll see that inside the box it really is lining up!!), then hit the "code" button again. Pretty simple!! :D If you need some help with it let me know. I can go in and edit your post to make it work, if necessary.

This is also an intro . It is played twice . Enjoy . I hope !

P.S. Note that the sixth string is tuned down to D .

I gave it a run through, but don't have a guess. Maybe a clue would be good.

Here is a lyric : " Why don't we listen to the voices in our hearts , 'cause then I know we'd find we're not so far apart . "

The lyric was a give-away. The song is "The Wizard" by Uriah Heap

Try this - I think it should be known, even across the pond:

Code: Select all

Tune bottom E down to a D.

E|---3-----3-----------3-------2-----2-----3-----2-----|
B|-1---1-----1-0h1p0-----1-------3-----3-----3-----3---|
G|-------0-----------0-----0-------2-----------2-------|
D|---------------------------0-----------0-------------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------------------------|

played twice
It's a rocker.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
