I believe that's Johnny Cash's guitarist;
Luther Perkins

Well three of 'em I knew right off the bat:

Robbie Robertson of The Band, poet Michael McClure, Bob Dylan (who?) & poet Allen Ginsberg.

Whoo! Extra points!

I win!

Yeah, I'm still on a cloud after that victory, LOL!

No, not Sir Bob, though there is a resemblance in that photo. This guy's older and folksy.

Yes, quite the coup

You must be well read....?

Unfortunately for me, I'm having a bit of a struggle with yours.

I don't know if he's older than Geldof....
And the chin looks a little weak for him....

Mike Scott????

Nah, Robertson and Dylan were simple; Ginsberg took just a moment. McClure was the one I didn't know, but of course as a very big Doors fan long ago, I had heard of him.

Ooh, that would be a good one - he's one of my faves.

But no, this one's older still.

Very influential to a lot of fingerstyle players in the 60s, especially in the UK. Page ripped him off, too.

No, not Parsons either.

He's a Scot. Hung out with Paul Simon and John Renbourn. Influenced many generations of guitarists, including Jimmy Page, Johnny Marr, Neil Young, Noel Gallagher, Donovan, etc.

That should help.

Well, thanks to the clues....
Bert Jansch.

Can't say as I ever heard of him.
His birthday is Nov. 3rd, mine is Nov. 2nd.
I'll have to look into him.
ThankX Mitch! :D
