When you put your hand in your pocket for small change and bring out as many picks as coins.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

When you find picks literally everywhere. I have found about 7 in my bed (various places, under matress, between sheets and matress, in pillowcase, et cetera).

When your bagless vaccum has at least 2 picks in it when its full.

When you say to the Mrs, "I could do with a couple of new sets of strings this week" - and she opens her purse ........

and when some one says, "Can you show me how you play those chords".....that's when you know you're a rhythm guitarist.......

when you hear a classic rock song on the soundtrack of a film and the plot goes out of the window as you play along.......

and keep playing cause you've got a guitar in your hand and don't want to put it down.......

when you stop by you guitar shop on the way home because 15 minutes is a lot easier if you're strumming in between

and for the american students- putting a musician's friend in that fore-mentioned math textbook
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.

'cause your favorite saying is "forgiveness is easier to get than permission" well at least for those of us with significant others.

When you would rather be homeless than lose that one ever special guitar (im one of these).

When you respect all people that play guitar no matter what their skill level or musicianship is like (I do this too).

Someone asks if you play guitar and you answer "yes."

(Instead of "not really" or "I just started" or something along those lines.)

When the calluses on your fingertips develop calluses of their own. (At least that's what it looks like now that I've gone back to two to three hours a day)

... you concentrate more on listening than playing, even with guitar in hand. (Congrats, you're probably a musician now, as well.)
