The best of GN (yeah, talking to YOU!) UPLOADED!

Post by Ignar Hillström » July 4th, 2007, 6:45 am

Final version uploaded here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/92920567/BoGN.zip

Submission deadline 24th July

So I was thinking, with all the people being here, why not make a GN 'album'? A collection of all kinds of originals from the GN members, so to speak. If you'd like that feel welcome to post your original you like most in this topic, I'll volunteer to mix them all together. Maybe I'm stupid, if not then let's rock. :D

[current list, in order of them being posted, open to change]
Dogbite - Prison Blues
SmokingDog - It's my Party
TR - Some Nice Place
Hilch - Kiss Me
Pbee - Game Over
Vic Lewis - Masquerade
Dan T - India Sunset
Celt - ?
DHodge - ?
Moonrider - ?
Sleutelbos - ?
Dneck - Prelude in Dm

I like the idea.
I think a hard part might be the over all mastering. each of our submissions has different
volumes. when compiled on a CD during playback the volume levels jump all over the place.
one song may sound low and another loud. that's what happens when I make download songs to burn CDs.
so if you think you could master the complete thing then I think it would be a good thing.

what is the way to post our sample here. other than link it to soundclick?

As long as it's a link to something I can download it doesn't matter, all else use a general file hoster or mail it. Soundclick will be just fine though. As for the mixing, that's easy to do, no worries. :D

Arjen ..... do I have to do something new or can I send you my best? I would like you to include the title song from my CD ...... "Some Place Nice". Is that OK?

If I remember correctly, this is the millionth time we have tried this. :)

I can't record right now. Plastic USB Mic finally quit, after being run over by my office style rolly chair to many times.

TR: as long as it's an original I don't care. I don't want to get my arse burned, no matter how small the chances, so as long as all the stuff in the track is owned by you it's cool with me. :D

Dogbite: Great. Love that song, but if you want to chance your mind you'll have to weeks or so left.

Ken: Got it, thanks!

Hilch: Nice pick. :) All participants will be mentioned but I'll treat this as yoru pick so if Vic feels like joining in with one of his own songs that's cool.

Paul: Thanks for joining in. :D

Duff: no idea bout that, but it's butt-easy for me to do, so if people send in songs I'll get it done. I'll be on holidays till the 24th, and will finish it the week after. So you've got till that time to record something, and if people like this project we can do one every few months. It's just a fun little project which hopefully encrourages some people to start writing their own tunes.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I have been thinking about it - narrowed it down to three songs, "Blood On Your Hands" "Masquerade" and "Mid-life Crisis Male Menopause Blues." I think "Masquerade" is my favourite of those, but neither that or BOYH have a drum track. MLCMMB does, but I reckon the guitar solo needs re-doing. Dunno what anyone else thinks.....

:D :D :D
