The first recording from the new studio. I can't believe I haven't recorded anything since we moved house in November. Music attributed to John Dowland (1563-1626) - "What if a day or a month or a year"
Arrangement by Karl Scheit (really). I've improvised the ornaments (trills and stuff) in the repeats, as musicians of the day were expected to do, and in the middle section.
My guitar is tuned to A=415 in line with Nigel North's renaissance lute on the NAXOS recordings of the Dowland material, rather than A=440 which we use now. Capo on the 3rd fret to replicate the sound of the renaissance lute.
