Your Chance to sit in with the band

Post by smokindog » December 14th, 2009, 8:19 pm

Here is your chance to sit in with the band. The song is 'Red House'. Key of B flat. Drums, bass and vocals included ...all is needed is your guitar slinging. You can add keyboards or whatever else trips your trigger also
Here is the backing track http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8476973
I'll post the finished tracks after New Years Eve. You can send them to smokindog57@charter.net
Have fun :D

Interesting idea. I'll try my hand at this one as well.

Thanks for the link, smoking dog. I found a couple things on there I like already. :)

Hi Ken
New toy (a christmas present ?) the Vox Tonelab ST.
Shall be fun to hear the sound of the amp sims and effects from that unit.

I used my Laney Bass amp head with fully overdrived tube pre amp , plus some effects added in the recording SW.
Guitar was my Yamaha with new pickups (Tonerider Alnico IV Classic , Humbucker PAF type).

It was not so easy to adapt the guitar solo to the vocal parts in the song.
Often I wanted to start/or started a lick when singer kicked in.
It must be easier in a real situation when you can see the singer and get a sign when he/she starts to sing or rehearsed it many times.

I'm working on my part still. Should be done in a couple of days at the most.

I got mine done :D I used my new Vox Tonelab ST straight to the mixer. Not to bad as far as the tone , a bit thin IMO. I would have used one of my guitar amps (Blues Jr. or Black heart 1/2 stack) but the wife is not feeling so good and was sleeping. I did this in one take so all the mistakes are left in  I was going for a live feeling

Thanks smokindog. :D

I used my Boss GT-6 processor, and all of my guitars, (Squier Tele, Epi LP, Oscar Schmidt Delta King, and Fender Strat).

It'll be cool to hear the different takes on this song.
