Hey mon, how about a Summer Reggae Jam?

Are you looking for someone to jam? Do you have AIM or MSN or YIM? Would you like to collaborate online? Are you just looking for something to do with the microphone attached to your PC? Post here.

Hey mon, how about a Summer Reggae Jam?

Post by slejhamer » May 5th, 2010, 12:47 pm

Now that the blues / Floyd Spring jams have been wrapped up, is anyone interested in a reggae jam for Summer?
I've got a track that will work as a bt once I figure out how to loop it.

If there's interest I'll see about putting it together, maybe for a June timeframe.

I'll host; you roll your own!

Excellent Dan!

Here is the basic track one time through, in case anyone's wondering; it's right around 1 minute:

Well, what the heck. I too, have never done the Reggae thing. Closest I ever got was No Woman No Cry, and that was done Folk style. I'm in if there's room.

Sure there's room! I'll just loop it as many times as we need for the final backing track. I did a quick take in Audacity and it's very easy to slice and splice.

If we get more people I can break it into two teams to make it more manageable. I'll leave the sign-up open for at least a few more days.

So who else wants to pass the dutchie? 8)

Bump for summer jammin'.

I've got the BT ready for five players, but can easily do more.

I just changed my guitar strings (on all of them). I'll take a spot.

"Smoking me herb, dog" join de party, and every ting irie!

The door is now officially closed so we can get things rolling (pun.)

I think I'll do a six-part track instead of two threes. Does anyone have a preference on where they fall in line?

Hey mon, put me any where you like, me don't care.

I did see Peter Tosh in concert in 1977or 78 at soldiers field in Chicago. They did a rousing version of "Legalize IT" 8)
Of course this was a STONES Concert
