Hi Everyone :)

ive never played guitar before, but i just got one off of ebay ($60!!! :D) thats when i started reading up on playing and found this site and realized that maybe i shouldnt have went to ebay to begin with haha

i got into acoustic cause i saw my cousin playing and he taught himself to play fairly well in less than one year. id like to play songs by ear, just for fun, nothing serious...im a biology major lol

ive tried basic tabs and learned the themes to teenage mutant ninja turtles (that has to be the best sounding tune coming out of my guitar right now hehe), almost all of king of the hill. im also trying Flawed Design by Stabilo and am currently trying to finish off Out of My Head by Mobile. All on open notes. No chords. lol i havent gotten that far yet. oh yeah, im a leftie on a right handed guitar (i dont understand how anyone can play with the highest note closest to the ground, it doesnt seem logical to me lol!)

hopefully, with the help of guitar noise, fellow members and tons of practice, i will be able to produce a decent sounding song.

Welcome to GN Telomere! As a newbie myself (less than a year's experience), I have found everyone here to be extremely helpful.

Welcome to GN.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.

Welcome to GN. Well as far as your guitar goes, I wouldnt worry about it too much. Best to start off on an inexpensive guitar than you go all out and not play it. If you continue learning and playing you can bet that you'll feel the urge to upgrade sooner or later.

Again welcome and enjoy
