Go ahead . . . and tax us on imported tea again . . .

we're about ready to start another revolution anyway.

but that's just what some dude said on the telly when I was checking in to hear Mandela's speech, so don't quote me on it! :P

I would gather that the Brits are beating the U.S. in football or FIFA Soccer, that's what I make of it?

Place your bets accordingly - you read it here first? Thank you Scrybe, not really your fault. 8)

Now, how anyone can call a game, where you hold the ball in your hands, "foot" ball, I really don't know.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

My prediction, for what it's worth - a hard fought game, hopefully a narrow win for England, 1-0 or 2-1 - but both teams to qualify from Group C.

Fingers crossed.......

I've never been a soccer fan, but I have vowed to watch some of the world cup games this year just to give it a chance and see why everyone gets so excited about it. I watched for over an hour yesterday and nothing happened. No scores and only 2 attempts were actually blocked by a goalie. The rest "attempts" weren't even close to the goal. I love hockey, which has games that end 1-0, because even when there's no scoring, there's some great defensive action going on. I'm going to keep giving it a chance though.

A lot happens. Those 22 men are trying hard to score a goal. Seeing that is a real excitement (even though my country is not in the tournament at all).

OTOH, even though my country is a prominent feature in the cricket cups, I find cricket a 'yawn'.

And why is that other variety often called "soccer?" They won't let you sock it.

From what I've read, soccer is an abbreviation of "association football".

Funny... if it was up to me to abbreviate that, I would have come up with "assfoo"

A mystery indeed! Remember its 'American Football' to be precise.
