Could anyone alive play 64th notes at 120 beats per minute?   Flea, Les Claypoole, and Vic Whooten.
Who can do this then go into cut time?

I can throw my bass off the roof of a 54-storey scy scraper, then take the elevator and pick it up on the exit of the first floor to play the ending 64th note, and still be in time. Dang, I must be the best bassist in the universe...

Forget about all the flash or showmanship, Victor Wooten is still by far the best bass player ever.  No one else can play the things he can and his compositional skills are just as good.  Don't believe me, listen to Clasical Thump.  Runners up would have to be Jaco, Stanley Clark,  and a personal favorite Les Claypool.
