NGD! My New Bass...Sa-Weeeet!

Post by k5koy » January 3rd, 2009, 5:34 am

Hey everyone, thought I would stop in and show off my newest bass. This is a very rare beast.
How rare, I'm still not sure, but I have heard from one guy that there were as little as 45 of these produced. Here's what I know for sure. It is an American made FSR (Factory Special Run) from Fender Jazz Bass made exclusively for Guitar Center in 2001. According to the aforementioned source, along with this were 50 Matching Telecasters and 50 Strats. It features a Rosewood fretboard, Graphite reinforced Maple neck, Black speacial Laminate Headstock, and Custom Shop Silver Sparkle Paint. It truely is a beatiful Instrument, and plays like butter!

Wow, that is sharp! I love the Silver metalflake/black color scheme, really sets it off nice! :)

Thanks Man! I sure do like it! I hope to someday play it on stage. It would be a chameleon under stage lights! I am a studio musician right now. As for the tuners, I dont really know.

That's a pretty glitzy bass!

You know, someone at Fender missed out by about 30 years - they should've been making a model like this back in the early 70's when glam rock was all the rage. Couldn't you just see Trevor Bolder squaring up to Mick Ronson and Bowie using one of these? Or Steve Currie in T.Rex?

Nice acquisition!

:D :D :D
