Hungarian Minor

Postby NEZTOK » May 18th, 2012, 9:50 am

I've played the major scale and it's associated modes to death. Pretty much the same with the Harmonic scale. So yeah, I'm trying something new. Sorta new anyway because to me the Hungarian minor is nothing more than a Harmonic scale with a #4. Is that the only thing besides maybe some messed up chords that I should be focused on. Not that the #4 is hard to focus on - it's ingrained in my head due to the Lydian mode.

Yeah, I'm totally out of scale questions. I'll find one...someday.

Wait, I got one! What does a Harmonic Minor with a b7 make? Throw some Mixolydian magic into the mix. LOL. Oh wait, never mind. I swear that's how my brain works...

Harmonic minor with a b7 = Aeolian mode. The harmonic minor sharps the 7 from Aeolian. Flatting it puts you right back where you started.
