Guitar Noise Podcast #22 – "The Star of County Down" (Part 2)
Hello to all!
With many apologies for it taking so long, let me welcome you to the latest Guitar Noise Podcast, the second part of our look at the old Irish folksong, “The Star of the County Down.” Here we’ll make an arrangement for the last half of the verse and also do something fun with the chorus. When you’ve finished with this podcast, you’ll have a complete song for your repertoire.
As always, I’ll be walking you through each step, so come on along and join in the fun. And, again as always, please let us know what you think.

Firstly it’s still time (just) to send you my warmest new year greetings from France, and I look forward to learning lots more this year through your great lessons. I’m a self-tutored beginner and find you communicate and teach brilliantly through your podcasts. I love this song so really enjoyed getting to grips with part 1. Part 2 though seems to have gone up a level, especially in speed. I guess I’ll just have to keep practising to fit in all the chord changes.
Really, I just wanted to thank you for the time you commit to this site and especailly the pod casts.
Same as Polly (even from the same country). Thanks a lot for your work, I start to be able to do something with me auld piece o wood. And having a lot of fun with it thanks to you, I know you’ll appreciate.
Need help picking Johnny Cash,( I still miss someone.)
Thanks, bob
Is there going to be a Podcast #23. I really enjoy them.
OMG…will there EVER be another podcast???
Hi Polly, GhiOm, Bob, Bill and Mark!
Yes, another Guitar Noise Podcast is on the way. After getting numerous comments (here and via email) that we may have stepped things up a bit too quickly between Podcast #21 and #22, I had to make a lot of changes and then re-record #23 several times. With a little luck it will be online Monday or Tuesday. And then, with a little more luck, I’m still planning on submitting them to Paul for a weekly release through at least March and maybe April. It all depends on getting the spare time at home.
Thanks for your comments, praise, suggestions and, most of all, your patience!
Peace
I just recently came across your site and I’m luving it! Keep up the great work.. I plan on going through all your podcast once I have time! May I ask what that beautiful sounding guitar is??
