Various Artists – Bay Prog
A free CD with the current issue of Expose. This album is a collection of tracks from various San Francisco Bay area Progressive Rock bands.
It highlights the diverse bands and the immense talent of the area. Of course, as it contains tracks from various artists, the tracks are in various styles. From the more symphonic, to the more metallic, to the more folk. Still, an interesting collection of talented bands.
Of note, a new song from Metaphor. Another fabulous piece of work from this band which reminds us that they are due for a new album. (I have had the privilege to hear an as yet unrecorded song from that upcoming album: it’s well worth the wait.) The only problem with it is the way it ends. It’s obvious it should be leading into another song, but that one’s not there. It’s like getting a taste of something wonderful, but only a taste. Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long for the next album.
