Bernie Tormé: Live Sheffield 1983

Although this album was recorded in 1983, it has never been released before. Bernie Tormé started off his career as guitarist for Gillian in the 70’s and early 80’s before joining Ozzy Osbourne’s Blizzard of OZ.

This album was recorded during his 1983 sold-out tour of the UK for his album Electric Gypsies. His band featured Colin Bond (Stampede) and Ron Rebel (Iron Maiden).

A highly interesting album, Tormé gives us a good view of his guitar pyrotechnics which are played with taste. Rather than just showing off, the guitar actually has something to say, contrary to many guitar heroes.

This is definitely a good overview of Tormé’s musical career. Visiting his full spectrum of solo works, Tormé is obviously having fun while giving us the opportunity to listen at full intensity.

A definite must for anyone who wishes to hear great guitar licks within great songs.
